HEAL, so we don't have another generation of trauma passing itself as culture!

It’s sad to hear how many children are committing suicide nowadays. All of this rage, depression, and anxiety has been so common due to the collective traumas we have inherited from our past. Our culture is so focused on surface issues such as pride, hate, desire, jealousy, and greed that we fail to recognize the deep rooted causes of our insecurities. We have been threatened out of our security mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually that we now rely on someone or something outside of ourselves to fill in our holes. In reality, feeling whole starts from within.

Hatred and sabotage comes from a lack of love, most specifically, a lack self-love. We all have a conditioned belief that one must follow others. This is why we have fallen into the habit of seeking validation from others. However, this emptiness can never be filled by others. It can only be filled by ourselves.

Everything starts from within. Give yourself the love you yearn for. You can’t expect to give and receive true, HEALTHY love from others if you can’t even love yourself. Teach yourself this love and you will come to find that everything around you will start to reflect it.

Try this exercise:

1) Start to pay attention to your mind chatter. What are you telling yourself?

”I can’t do it.”

”I’m not good enough.”

”I could’ve/should’ve done better.”

”I don’t deserve this.”

”I hate myself.“

”Why can’t I do anything right?”

”No one loves me. How can anyone?”

”I don’t belong here.”

”I’m so fat/ugly/skinny/frail.”

2) Write your thoughts down and read them aloud. Ask yourself, would you teach a child to say those things to himself/herself or other people?

3) Take a look at each statement and switch it to something positive. Say those positive statements aloud, repetitively.

“I can do it.”

”I am enough.”

”I am doing the best I can.”

”I deserve this.”

”I love myself.”

”I am learning.”

“I am loved.“

”I am here for a reason.”

”I accept myself for who I am now.”

How does it make you feel? At first, you may feel a reluctancy to be so inviting to it. As you repeat this process and incorporate it into your daily activities, it will feel much more wholly.
